This means a level 79 Aardweapon would do an average damage of 197 damage.

However, a level 80 Aardweapon would do an average damage of 240 damage.

Modifiers

These formulas are only the basic damage calculations. Many factors contribute to the actual damage delt on each hit, including but not limited to:

  • Stregth
  • Damage Roll (DR)
  • Resistances
  • Armor Class (AC)
  • Weapon Flags

Take for example a weapon with Damage: 10d9

The minimum damage this weapon will deal is 10.
The maximum damage dealt will be 90.
This means the average damage is 50. That is, ((10 * 9) + 9)/2

Added lines 1-14:

Base damage is calculated as a roll of dice (like 60d4). If you set a damage of XdY, you can calculate the following:

Minimum damage= X Maximum damage= X * Y Average damage= ((X * Y) + X)/2

Aardweapons have their own unique average damage rule. The average damage on an Aardweapon under level 80 will always be (2.5 * weapon level). The average damage on an Aardweapon level 80 and above will always be (3 * weapon level).

This means a level 79 Aardweapon would do an average damage of 197 damage. However, a level 80 Aardweapon would do an average damage of 240 damage. The difference one level can make!
